Meeting of the Board of Directors of Veolia Environnement to discuss the possible
appointment of Henri Proglio as Chairman and CEO of EDF
Paris, September 29, 2009. The Board of Directors of Veolia Environnement met on September 28, 2009, under the Chairmanship of the Chairman and CEO, Mr. Henri Proglio.The Board was informed of Mr. Proglios possible appointment as Chairman and CEO of EDF following EDFs Shareholders Meeting, scheduled to take place on November 5, 2009.
The Board of Directors of Veolia Environnement unanimously congratulated Mr Henri Proglio and asked its Nominations and Compensation Committee to consider the consequences of this possible appointment, and to make recommendations with respect to Veolia Environnements corporate governance and management team in the next few weeks.
The Board expressed that it would like Henri Proglio to assume the role of Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors or Chairman of the Supervisory Board, dependent upon which governance framework is chosen. The Board further expressed its preference for an internal solution for the companys general management.
