On January 12, 2005, Pioneer Natural Resources Company (the "Company")
issued a news release that is attached hereto as exhibit 99.1. In the news
release, the Company announced that during the first quarter of 2005 the
following new officers will join the Company's management team: (i) David
McManus, Vice President of International Operations; (ii) Frank Hopkins, Vice
President of Investor Relations and (iii) Roger Wallace, Vice President of
Government Affairs. The Company also announced the resignation of Mark Withrow,
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.
