On January 27, 2005, Pioneer Natural Resources Company (the "Company")
issued a news release that is attached hereto as exhibit 99.1. In the news
release, the Company announced that Guimar Vaca Coca, President of the Company's
wholly-owned Argentine subsidiary, Pioneer Natural Resources (Argentina) S.A.,
is retiring and Marcelo D. Guiscardo has been appointed as his successor.
