YORK WATER COMPANY ANNOUNCES A THREE-FOR-TWO STOCK SPLIT

York, Pennsylvania, May 1, 2006: The York Water Company’s (Nasdaq: YORW) President and CEO, Jeffrey S. Osman, announced today that the Company's Board of Directors approved a three-for-two split of the Company's common stock, subject to the approval of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PPUC). The record date for the stock split will be determined after the PPUC acts on the Company's application.
