Item 8.01 - Other Events

On January 21, 2009, Uranium Energy Corp. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that it has received an independent technical report in compliance with National Instrument 43-101 of the Canadian Securities Administrators, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects ("NI 43-101") regarding the Nichols Project, Karnes County, Texas. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1

The complete Nichols Project NI 43-101 Technical Report will be filed and available shortly on the SEDAR website, at www.sedar.com, and on the Company's website at www.uraniumenergy.com. The Technical Report is authored by Thomas A. Carothers, P.Geo., a qualified person as defined in NI 43-101.
