ITEM 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.
On October 25, 2004, the Board of Directors of STERIS Corporation (“STERIS”) elected a new director, Michael B. Wood, M.D. The election of Dr. Wood increases the size of the Board from 9 to 10. Dr. Wood was appointed to serve on the Compliance Committee. Dr. Wood will stand for election at the 2005 annual meeting.
A press release announcing the election of Dr. Wood was issued on October 26, 2004. The full text of the press release is set forth in Exhibit 99.1 attached hereto and is incorporated in this Current Report as if fully set forth herein.
