Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
Richard C. Zoretic, Executive Vice President, Government Business Division of WellPoint, Inc. (the “Company”), notified the Company on April 25, 2014 that he will be retiring effective as of May 31, 2014. Mr. Zoretic’s retirement is due to personal reasons and not due to any disagreement or dispute with the Company. Mr. Zoretic will be replaced by Peter Haytaian, the Company’s President of Medicaid Business.
A copy of the Company’s press release announcing Mr. Zoretic’s retirement and Mr. Haytaian’s appointment is furnished with this report as Exhibit 99.1.
