“América Móvil acquires Verizon Dominicana”

MEXICO CITY (MEXICO), December 1, 2006. -- América Móvil, S.A. de C.V. (“América Móvil”) (BMV: AMX; NYSE: AMX; Nasdaq: AMOV; LATIBEX: XAMXL), today announced that it has acquired from Verizon Communications Inc., a 100% indirect interest in Verizon Dominicana, C. por A.

Verizon Dominicana is the largest telecommunications service provider in the Dominican Republic with over 750,000 wireline and broadband subscribers and 2.1 million wireless subscribers as of September 30, 2006.
