Qualified Holding
Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 17 of the Portuguese Securities Code, we hereby inform that the companies Stark Offshore Management LLC and Stark Event Management LLC notified Portugal Telecom, SGPS, S.A. ("PT") that, as from 23 February 2007, a total of 24,959,961 PT shares, equivalent to 2.21% of the share capital and voting rights in PT, is attributed to such entities.
Such holding is owned through the following funds:
- Stark Master Fund Ltd, managed by Stark Offshore Management LLC - which holds 24,059,988 shares, representing 2.13% of the share capital and voting rights in PT;
- Stark Event Master Fund Ltd, managed by Stark Event Management LLC - which holds 899,973 shares, representing 0.08% of the share capital and voting rights in PT.
PT was also informed that Stark Offshore Management LLC and Stark Event Management LLC, both companies incorporated under US law, with head offices at 3600 South Lake Drive, St. Francis, 53235, Wisconsin, are under the direct or indirect control of tark & Roth Inc., a company incorporated under US law, also with head office at 3600 South Lake Drive, St. Francis, Wisconsin.
