Item 8.01   Other Events.





The Company has previously reported Shirley Williams et al. v.
Mohawk Industries, Inc., a putative class action lawsuit against the Company in
the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, as well
as the filing of a second petition for certiorari with respect to the case with
the United States Supreme Court in December 2006.  On February 26, 2007,
the Company learned that its petition for certiorari has been denied.  The
Company believes the allegations in the complaint are unfounded and will
continue to vigorously defend itself against this action.
