ITEM 7.01 REGULATION FD DISCLOSURE.

On October 18, 2006, Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company"), the
holding company for Berkshire Bank, announced that it has changed the date and
time it will issue its third quarter earnings release, which is now scheduled
for Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at approximately 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time. The
Company also announced that its post-earnings conference call has been changed
to 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 to discuss the results
for the quarter ended September 30, 2006. Instructions on how to access the call
are contained in the press release, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit 99.1
and incorporated herein by reference.
