Item 5.02. Election of Director.
On August 10, 2006, the Board of Directors of Lam Research Corporation appointed Patricia S.
Wolpert to fill a newly-created directorship on the Board. At that time, Ms. Wolpert was also
named by the Board to serve on its compensation committee.
