CHICAGO - Sept. 29, 2026 - PRLog -- The Breathing Blanket is introducing a new approach to personal comfort by incorporating breathing exhalation valves into a blanket design to support air exchange while a user remains covered.
Unlike a conventional blanket, the Breathing Blanket incorporates strategically positioned valves near the user's breathing area. The concept is designed to facilitate the exchange of air between the covered space and surrounding environment.
The invention opens the door to uses beyond traditional sleeping and relaxation. A user could remain covered while viewing content on a phone, helping contain screen light that could otherwise disturb someone nearby. The concept can also create a comfortable covered environment for relaxing and family activities, with additional potential applications in travel and outdoor settings.
During development, the inventor conducted prototype testing using multiple air-quality monitoring devices. The inventor reported stable readings during testing, providing additional information supporting continued evaluation and commercialization of the concept.
The technology may also be incorporated into different product configurations. In addition to the blanket concept, a sleeping-bag prototype demonstrates how the airflow approach could potentially be adapted for camping and outdoor applications.
