David M. Perkins announces that his memoir book, “on LIFE - Rants, Tributes, and Lessons Learned in No Particular Order” can now be purchased on Amazon as a paperback, hardcover, or Kindle e-book.

“on LIFE - Rants, Tributes, and Lessons Learned in No Particular Order” is Perkins’ latest book after his critically acclaimed semi-autobiographical novel, “Dear Austin - A Letter to My Son”, was published in 2010. In his new book, Perkins compiles anecdotes, thoughts, and essays he had written over the years.

Perkins explains that because “on LIFE” is a collection of things he’s written over the past 30-odd years, there are opinions that may not be agreeable to the modern public. However, he emphasizes that these stories reflect his specific mindset at the time or how he felt during an occasion. While some feelings remain true, even to this day, Perkins says he is constantly reevaluating his beliefs.
“I am fully aware that a huge percentage of you will vehemently disagree with a huge percentage of what is written here. I’m okay with that,” he says, “I sometimes feel the need to reevaluate my stance when I find myself siding with the majority. Maybe that’s just contrarianism; something I have been labeled with more than once. Not surprisingly, many of my family and friends long ago learned to ignore me. I am also okay with that.”
In his new book, Perkins shares his thoughts as a father to a son, family dynamics, and loss and grief. Gritty, honest, and sometimes sarcastic, “on LIFE” is a raw novel that shows the wonderful but sometimes, controversial revelations men can experience when growing both as humans and fathers. In fact, several stories in the book are labeled as “long-winded Post-it notes”, where Perkins eloquently - and haphazardly - details his thoughts about life, from major world events to personal milestones.
One reader review on Amazon says, “Reading David Perkins’ ‘on LIFE’ felt like having a heart-to-heart conversation with a dear friend who is wise, reflective, and deeply human. The book’s structure is unique; it is a collection of thoughts and anecdotes gathered over a lifetime and presented without a strict format. This approach creates an intimate atmosphere.”
