DETROIT, MI - The Estate of Sylvia Moy Foundation (EoSMF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to music education and professional recording resources, has announced an expanded Motown In The Studio (MITS) Program in partnership with The Motown Alumni Association (MAA).
The MITS program offers six in-person courses designed for talented Detroit-area high school and college music and audiovisual project creators. Participants will receive hands-on practical instruction from experienced professionals in music, sound, film, and other audiovisual fields. Courses will be held at Masterpiece Sound Studios, located at 1611 Webb Street, Detroit, where students will build practical skills and strengthen original projects while learning directly from industry experts.
Registration and Program Details
Registration is required to be conducted in person at Masterpiece Sound Studios on June 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and June 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. Courses are scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 27th.
Through the MITS program, students will engage in immersive instruction, mandatory studio lab sessions, project-based assignments, and gain exposure to professional industry standards.
Course Schedule (Saturdays) All lessons are one hour in duration:

Audio Recording Course (4 weeks, $200): 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Music Production Course (6 weeks, $300): 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Songwriting Course (12 weeks, $600): 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Creative Scriptwriting Course (4 weeks, $200): 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Post-Production Services Course (4 weeks, $200): 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The Business of Music Course (12 weeks, $600): 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Payment Information
Tuition for each course must be paid via money order or bank cashier's check. Please note that cash, credit card, and debit card payments will not be accepted.
