FindMyAccidentLawyer.com analyzed 863,047 client reviews of 5,869 U.S. car accident law firms. Only 0.8% of negative reviews mention how the case ended. Clients punish silence and rude treatment, not results.

Grafton, Wisconsin, United States - September 07, 2026 - FindMyAccidentLawyer.com, a free directory that rates U.S. car accident law firms on public review data, has published the largest open study of car accident lawyer reviews to date. The study covers 863,047 client reviews across 5,869 American law firms and more than a decade of client feedback.

The headline finding: only 0.8% of negative reviews cite a disappointing case result. Clients who leave one-star reviews describe being ignored, dismissed, or handed off between staff. They almost never write about losing.

What the study found:

• Communication decides satisfaction. Clients mention good communication in 49.2% of positive reviews and just 0.4% of negative ones.

• Treatment beats outcomes. Rude, dismissive, or uncaring conduct tops the complaint list at 22.7% of categorized negative reviews. A disappointing result ranks near the bottom at 0.8%.

• Reviews are polarized. 93.9% of all reviews carry five stars, yet one-star reviews (34,102) outnumber two-, three-, and four-star reviews combined (18,835).

• Firm size changes the complaint. Firms with fewer than 50 reviews run an 8.9% negative-review rate against 3.6% to 4.1% at the largest firms. But "treated like a number" complaints more than quadruple as firms grow, rising from 2.2 to 10.6 per 1,000 negative reviews.

• Client satisfaction varies by state. Idaho, Louisiana, Kansas, Utah, and Massachusetts lead. Wyoming, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania trail.

• The review flood is recent. Car accident law firms collected 4.16 times more reviews in 2024 than in 2018.

"People assume clients get angry about losing their case. The data says otherwise," said Mark Gundrum, founder of FindMyAccidentLawyer.com. "Clients forgive a hard outcome. They do not forgive silence. A firm that returns calls beats a firm that wins big and goes quiet."

Methodology:

The study analyzed 863,047 deduplicated public client reviews of U.S. law firms that handle vehicle accident cases. A language model sorted 820,642 of them into praise and complaint categories. Negative reviews are those rated one or two stars, 4.36% of the total.
