Ms. Smith earned an associate degree in computer and information science and networking from ECPI University in 2004 and a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Ashford University in 2008. She also holds Net+ and CompTIA certifications.

While looking for a solution, she found several natural products that could help, including sea moss. According to her research, sea moss would help alleviate her symptoms and also boost her immune system.

The problem was that authentic sea moss was not easy to obtain. At the time, it was not a popular product in the U.S. and the sea moss she did find was fake. It took time, but she was eventually able to cultivate a source from the Caribbean Islands.
