Creating Individual Safety to Enrich Community

The My eBodyGuard Program was then pitched to the Federal Headquarters team, and Headquarters in the Digital Office of the Western Hemisphere picked it up, seeing the vision and the need. With the support of the Brazilian Department of Commerce, Melissa took the advice of the International Trade Administration, and she was mentored by them. She listened to them and attended their workshops and schools, learning a new skill: the trade of American exports.

Building a Better Tomorrow

The pandemic has had a profound impact on societies worldwide and continues to have long-lasting effects. However, by going to such lengths to make individual cities happier, healthier, and more secure for their residents moving forward, eBodyGuard and the Smart, Safe Cities team have also helped generate greater exports for the U.S. While these numbers are still not up to their pre-pandemic highs, the work being done to make residents and communities feel safer has generated a net positive impact across the board.
