Spare Tire Expands Leadership Team with Executive Appointment and Strategic Consultant

NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / September 15, 2025 / Spare Tire, the healthcare mission-critical, category-leading EHR downtime resilience solution and the world's first living, breathing on-demand backup platform ensuring uninterrupted access to Electronic Health Records during cyberattacks, system outages and planned downtime, today announced the appointment of Jeanine "Nini" Martin as its new Chief Commercial Officer and the addition of Randy McCleese as a Healthcare IT Strategy Consultant. Martin, a recognized health IT executive with more than 25 years of global leadership experience, will spearhead Spare Tire's commercial strategy for its flagship solutions.

Martin's appointment comes at a pivotal moment in Spare Tire's trajectory as the company, the wholly owned subsidiary of ShelterZoom, seeks to establish a new global security standard in healthcare.

A proven leader in health IT and commercial growth

Martin brings deep expertise from both Fortune 100 enterprises and high-growth startups. She previously served in senior commercial leadership roles at Microsoft, Accenture, Avanade, Xerox and American Express, as well as with health IT startups that advanced to unicorn IPOs.

As one of only five original members of Microsoft's first U.S./Global Health & Life Sciences Strategy Team under Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, Martin helped build the company's healthcare and life sciences vertical to a $2.5 billion business unit. She has since led transformative projects with health providers, payers and life sciences companies across North America, Latin America, EMEA and APAC, driving strategic partnerships and revenue growth.

Advancing growth and impact

As CCO, Martin will focus on accelerating revenue growth through acquiring new customers, cross-selling and upselling across Spare Tire's existing pipeline, while expanding new enterprise partnerships globally. She'll also focus on building partnerships with leading organizations and major consulting firms, while bringing together chief information security officers to help shape Spare Tire's future products.

"My number one priority is clear: to lead Spare Tire's moonshot to set a new global standard for healthcare resilience," said Martin. "What excites me most is not just the technology itself, but the mission behind it. Every patient, every family, every community depends on uninterrupted access to medical records. I am here to impact lives by reducing the vulnerabilities due to EHR downtime so patients can have better outcomes."

Expanding leadership capacity

Alongside Martin's appointment, Spare Tire has engaged Randy McCleese as Healthcare IT Strategy Consultant, further strengthening the company's advisory capacity and commitment to global growth and innovation.

McCleese brings nearly 30 years of healthcare IT leadership as a CIO and consultant. A past member and Chair of the Board Of Trustees of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and Foundation Board, he was named 2017 CIO of the Year by CHIME and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Widely recognized for his policy and advocacy work, McCleese has received multiple national awards for CIO leadership and remains an influential voice in shaping health IT strategy.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nini to Spare Tire's leadership team and to collaborate with Randy in a strategic consulting role," said Chao Cheng-Shorland, CEO and co-founder of Spare Tire. "Nini brings a proven track record in driving growth and innovation, while Randy adds invaluable expertise and perspective from decades in healthcare IT. Together, they strengthen our ability to scale globally, accelerate innovation and deliver on our mission to protect patient safety and resilience in the digital era."
