GoldenTV Announces New 2024-2025 Programming: Weekly Entertainment Show “The Takeaway” and Filipino American Baseball Doc “Hard 90 to Home” Lead Fall Lineup, Plus Daniel Wu-Led Racing Docuseries, Kelly Mi Li Talk Show, More

AAPI streaming service GoldenTV, together with ChimeTV, the nation’s only AAPI English-language cable network, launches new programs this fall that place Asian-centric stories front and center, with even more to come in 2025, under the umbrella of the Golden Media family of companies.

“Audiences want and deserve more Asian-centric stories, some of the most celebrated and in demand content in entertainment today,” said Golden Media CEO Takashi Cheng. “These projects show that when you give API talent a chance to shine both in front and behind the camera, the result is a first-rate project that appeals to audiences worldwide.”

Leading the new fall lineup of unscripted originals on ChimeTV and GoldenTV is weekly entertainment show “THE TAKEAWAY,” hosted by Michelle Park. Covering trending stories in film, television, music, arts and culture, sports and more, and featuring in-depth interviews with API and non-API talent, “The Takeaway” airs weekly on Fridays at 8 p.m. PT (11 p.m. ET). Every Friday, pop culture enthusiasts can stay in the know about the latest trends, celebrity news and other developments in the AAPI community.

Just in time for Filipino American Heritage Month (FAHM) in October, fans of America’s favorite pastime will love “HARD 90 TO HOME,” the heartwarming documentary of a father and son's mission to nurture talented Filipino baseball players from around the globe through their organization, the Philippines Baseball Group, and affiliation with the Philippines National Team. The documentary follows the Filipino American family behind the program, baseball players and coaches at the 2024 Filipino World Series baseball tournament in Los Angeles, Calif. Filipino-themed content continues throughout the month with a series of Filipino short films and airings of the film “Manny Pacquiao: Unstoppable Force” and more.

November will kick off "FOLLOW ME AROUND," an original series that takes audiences into the green room, behind the camera and off the stage with notable Asian American personalities in the entertainment industry. Each episode gives an up-close look at the stress, drama and preparation leading up to a big event for an actor, musician, comedian or artist. In episode one, GoldenTV follows Chinese American comedian Tony Shriller as he prepares for his first-ever, half-hour comedy special at the world-famous Ice House in Pasadena, Calif.

Also currently in development and set to launch in early 2025 are new unscripted originals “STIR THE POT” with Kelly Mi Li, a one-hour series hosted by Li together with a rotating panel of guests in entertainment, discussing Asian food, culture, and hot topics, as they gather over hot pot in popular locations throughout Southern California. Also in development is the Daniel Wu racing docuseries “THE STUDENT DRIVER” directed by Evan Jackson Leong, following the acclaimed actor as he pursues his love of racing, plus music docuseries “CROSSING OVER” which follows the journey of an Asian American boy band’s climb to fame. More new programs to be announced. Fall 2024 lineup on GoldenTV and ChimeTV powered by GoldenTV follows:
