Sinclair today announced the return of Sinclair’s Reporting, Producer and Weather Academies, a series of free, interactive, virtual workshops for college students interested in pursuing a career in journalism. The 90-minute sessions will run throughout the third week of November and assist students seeking to build a career in reporting, producing or weather.

SESSION DATES:

  • Reporter Academy – Tuesday, November 19
  • Producer Academy – Wednesday, November 20
  • Weather Academy – Thursday, November 21

Each session will take place virtually, from Noon – 1:30pm ET

Sinclair’s Reporter Academy, now in its fourth year, is hosted by Sinclair’s award-winning news operation, giving students an opportunity to learn about Sinclair’s modern content centers and interact with the company’s industry-leading teams. Students will learn the basics of reporting and investigative storytelling across multiple platforms, what their first year may look like working in a content center, how to excel in their role and how to package a resume and reel. The Reporter Academy will be held on Tuesday, November 19, from 12-1:30pm ET.

Sinclair’s Producer Academy, a workshop for students interested in pursuing a career in digital or broadcast news producing, which is now in its seventh year, will be held on Wednesday, November 20, from 12-1:30pm ET.

Last year, Sinclair expanded the session programming to include a weather workshop. The second annual Weather Academy will be held on Thursday, November 21, from 12-1:30pm ET.

These workshops are open to undergraduate and graduate college students. Students must register in advance, by November 18, at https://www.flowcode.com/page/sinclair-news-academies (an .edu email address is required when registering).
