Trellis Health Appoints Esteemed Healthcare Executives to Inaugural Advisory Board

Leveraging Decades of Expertise from Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and UW Medicine, This Advisory Board Will Advocate for Patient-Centered Innovation Across Every Stage of Life

Trellis Health, a digital health operating system designed to empower women with personalized, proactive care, today announces its Medical Advisory Board. The Board consists of distinguished, world-class experts across obstetric anesthesiology, longevity medicine, genomics, and patient advocacy.

As Trellis builds a deeply personalized, lifetime health experience for its members, their board will serve as a guiding system in helping to shape product development and design the future of care. That future is being reimagined in the context of patients’ trust in the healthcare system, the evolving role of AI in medicine, the way patients and physicians access information today, the overwhelming volume of collective medical knowledge, and the fragmented and disconnected nature of care delivery.

“At Trellis, we’re building a future of medicine that’s collaborative, longitudinal, and generational,” said Estelle Giraud, CEO and Co-Founder of Trellis Health. “We deeply respect the legacy of science and the clinicians that have dedicated their lives to it, while holding steadfast optimism about how the system can be reimagined. The Medical Advisory Board is more than a list of names; it’s a connected network of wide ranging knowledge that will help us transform care, starting with women and families.”

The Trellis Health Medical Advisory Board brings together voices from across the care continuum - doctors, nurses, geneticists, advocates, and technologists - to inform how Trellis delivers value through every pivotal life stage. Their role is to proactively co-create bold new models of care that reflect how people actually live, not how medicine has historically been compartmentalized.

These experts bring unparalleled depth and range of thought, representing the often-fragmented layers of medicine, from neonatal care to genomic medicine to AI ethics in population health. Board members include:

  • Dr. Hillary Lin, MD, Stanford-trained internal medicine physician, longevity specialist, and serial entrepreneur, is dedicated to transforming healthcare through science-backed, proactive care. Co-Founder of VC-backed mental health startup Curio and Founder of Elevate X Health.
  • Dr. Kathleen C. Barnes, PhD, RN, ex-Labor and Delivery nurse, Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, Senior Vice President of Population Health and Precision Medicine at Oxford Nanopore Technologies. A leader in genomic medicine, health equity, and population health integration into healthcare systems globally to enhance disease prediction and treatment in real time.
  • Dr. Laurent Bollag, MD, Chief of Obstetric & Fetal Surgery Anesthesia at the University of Washington School of Medicine. An internationally recognized expert in enhanced recovery after cesarean (ERAC) care and post-cesarean pain management.
  • Dr. Yamicia Connor, MD, PhD, MPH, OB-GYN physician-scientist, founder and women's health leader with over 10 years of experience in medicine, science, engineering, and public health. The founder of Diosa Ara and Race to Better Health, initiatives focused on improving maternal care and addressing health disparities.
  • Dr David M. Nichols, MD. Family Medicine physician, BSc in Behavioral and Exercise Science and serial health innovator focused on improving care at scale. Deep urgent care and telehealth experience at Jefferson Health, Founder of Restore Care, a technology backed behavioral health approach to community and metabolic health. Founding Partner at XPC, a primary care innovation community with over 300 clinicians to support learning and discussion across diverse clinical perspectives and innovation in primary care.
  • Laura Jantos, MHA, nationally recognized patient advocate and health IT strategist. Technical Expert on AI for the National Quality Forum and a key voice in shaping U.S. interoperability standards.

With medical knowledge now doubling every 73 days, Trellis believes it’s no longer feasible, or responsible, for any one person or institution to act alone. The board represents a concerted effort to unify expertise and provide a collaborative, cross-disciplinary lens on medicine in real time. Trellis is forging a path grounded in evidence, enhanced by expertise, and built for every life stage.

This announcement comes on the heels of Trellis Health’s pre-seed funding round of $1.8 million from Palette Ventures, Swizzle Ventures, NEXTBLUE, Suncoast Ventures, Sundial Foundation, and others, as the company finalizes their go-to market strategy.
