Thompson Thrift, a full-service nationally recognized real estate company, ranked fourth on Indiana Business Journal’s Largest Commercial Real Estate Developers list for 2026. This marks the firm’s fourth consecutive appearance on the list and its third consecutive year holding the fourth spot.

The IBJ ranking is for Indianapolis-area firms based on total square feet completed or under construction in 2025. For Thompson Thrift, that amounted to more than 13.5 million square feet of developments across 7 states, with 88% multifamily, 7% retail, and the remaining 5% industrial and office.

“This recognition reflects the strength of our team and our continued commitment to developing high-quality communities that create lasting value across Indiana and throughout the country,” said Dan Sink, president and chief financial officer of Thompson Thrift. “As we celebrate our 40th anniversary this year, we remain focused on making a meaningful long-term impact in the communities we serve.”

Highlights for the company over the past year included continued progress on the $750 million expansion of Fishers District outside Indianapolis, ongoing national multifamily growth and a significant investment in Indiana’s future workforce through a transformative partnership with Indiana State University that provides long-term scholarship and internship opportunities designed to support the next generation of construction industry leaders.

Thompson Thrift continues to build on a legacy of growth, innovation and long-term investment in its people and communities. With continued geographic expansion, a growing development pipeline and recent milestones such as its 100th residential community and entry into its 24th state, the company is well-positioned to continue delivering high-quality communities in strategic markets nationwide.

Since its founding in 1986, Thompson Thrift has invested more than $7.2 billion into local communities and has become known as a trusted partner engaged in all aspects of development, construction, leasing and management of high-quality real estate projects across the country.
