As a Friend of the Ecosystem, the AI-powered prior authorization leader will help modernize clinical workflows and close technical gaps ahead of 2027 federal mandates

Launched through the CMS Health Tech Ecosystem, it brings together health systems, payers, electronic health record developers, and technology partners to address the workflow, technical, and operational challenges slowing adoption of electronic prior authorization across the healthcare system.

The initiative builds on regulatory requirements established in the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization final rule, which mandates API-enabled data exchange, defined decision timeframes, and public reporting of prior authorization metrics by January 1, 2027.

Humata's solution automates the entire prior authorization continuum, from checking authorization requirements and retrieving payer-specific policies to clinical bundling, submission, statusing, and post-authorization monitoring.
