Oklanzarote.com Launches Sustainable Excursions in Lanzarote

By: Get News

LANZAROTE, SPAIN - Leading Lanzarote excursion provider oklanzarote.com has launched a range of guided tours designed to showcase the island’s beauty while preserving its fragile environment.

The island is at the forefront of responsible tourism. Earlier this year, Lanzarote’s Cabildo and tourist board launched a new campaign aimed at transforming how visitors treat the island, promoting a model of ethical and sustainable tourism that protects its landscape while improving quality of life for the local community.

Lanzarote will also host the 30th anniversary revision of the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism at the iconic Jameos del Agua on 2 July 2025 – underlining its role as a global benchmark for sustainability.

oklanzarote.com’s excursions have been designed with conservation in mind. They offer small group guided walks on volcanic trails, helping reduce pressure on crowded routes, alongside ecological and cultural tours that highlight the unique volcanic heritage and the legacy of César Manrique.

The company’s marine eco-tours are in line with protection rules of the Chinijo Archipelago Marine Reserve. They also provide support for local communities, by working with family-run restaurants, wineries, and guides.

These experiences give visitors from the UK the opportunity to connect deeply with Lanzarote while travelling responsibly.

While Lanzarote welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors in 2024, the island is moderating growth to protect its landscape. A recent pilot project introduced shuttle buses to the Volcanoes Natural Park to reduce private car traffic during peak times – a clear step towards more sustainable access to Timanfaya and surrounding areas.

“Our new eco-tours allow visitors to enjoy Lanzarote in a way that safeguards its volcanic and marine heritage,” said Luis Manzano, founder of oklanzarote.com.

“British visitors are increasingly looking for holidays that combine sunshine with purpose. Lanzarote now offers not just beaches and resorts, but also eco-experiences that align with the values of today’s responsible traveller.

“We want travellers to experience the island’s magic while ensuring it remains unspoilt for generations to come.”
