Digital Marketing Pioneer Jason Ciment Launches Weekly Torah Newsletter Ahead of Debut Book "The Genesis Gambit"
The "If You Need It" Substack offers busy readers a go-to resource for original Torah insights - perfect for those moments when you need a Dvar Torah and the clock is ticking.

Jason Ciment, co-founder of digital marketing agency Get Visible and author of the Amazon bestseller I Need More Clients, has launched "If You Need It," a weekly Substack newsletter offering fresh Torah commentary timed to the weekly synagogue reading.

The newsletter's name is a deliberate play on words. In Jewish communities, a "Dvar Torah" - a short teaching on the weekly Torah portion - is a common feature at Shabbat tables, celebrations, and gatherings. But not everyone has time to prepare one. Ciment's newsletter is designed as a last-minute lifeline: a source of original, accessible insights for anyone who needs a compelling thought to share.

"I've been in rooms where someone asks, 'Does anyone have a Dvar Torah?' and you can feel the panic," said Ciment. "I wanted to create something you could read Friday afternoon and actually use Friday night - something original, not recycled."

The newsletter serves as a prelude to Ciment's forthcoming book, The Genesis Gambit, which presents a creation era framework he calls the "Primordial Triad" - an exploration of the humanity and Creator relationship through the interplay of body, mind, and soul as revealed in the Hebrew Bible.

Since launching in September 2024, "If You Need It" has attracted readers with its distinctive approach: weaving classical rabbinic sources like Rashi, Ramban, and the Zohar together with modern thinkers including Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, Viktor Frankl, and Dr. John Sarno - all while drawing unexpected connections to business, psychology, and current events.

Recent posts have explored Joseph as "the first venture capitalist," Abraham's real estate negotiation as a theology of dual citizenship, and the psychological dynamics of trauma and healing in the Jacob narratives.
