NJ Primary Care and Sanskriti of New Jersey, announces a special Breast Cancer Awareness Walk to honor Gandhi Jayanti on Sunday, October 5, 2025. The 3K community walk will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Gazebo at Memorial Oval Park, located at 7-9 Civic Center Road in Livingston, New Jersey.
-- Let's Save Ma, in partnership withThe event will feature a special appearance by cricket legend Sir Curtly Ambrose, the legendary West Indies fast bowler, who will join community members in walking to support breast cancer awareness and early detection initiatives that serve both local New Jersey communities and remote villages in Gujarat, India.
A Mission of Service and Impact
The walk embodies Mahatma Gandhi's timeless words: "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." This community gathering honors Gandhi Jayanti while addressing the critical need for breast cancer education and screening among underserved populations.
Let's Save Ma has demonstrated remarkable impact in its recent campaigns, with 98% of fundraising dollars directly utilized to drive breast cancer awareness initiatives. From March 2024 to March 2025, the organization has achieved significant milestones including recruiting over 50 female physician volunteers, impacting more than 21,200 underprivileged women through education and screening programs, and detecting 12 abnormal cases with free treatments currently in progress.
"We are honored to have Sir Curtly Ambrose join our mission," said Dr. Deval Gadhvi founder of Let's Save Ma. "His presence emphasizes that the fight against breast cancer transcends all boundaries – geographic, cultural, and social. Early detection truly saves lives, and community support makes our mission possible."
Comprehensive Community Outreach
The Let's Save Ma initiative serves a dual mission, providing crucial breast cancer education and screening services to remote villages and minorities in Gujarat, India, while simultaneously supporting underprivileged groups in Essex and Hudson counties in New Jersey. This comprehensive approach has resulted in organizing 46 educational and mammogram screening camps and distributing over 5,000 pieces of breast cancer education material.
NJ Primary Care's partnership brings additional medical expertise and resources to ensure that local New Jersey residents have access to quality breast cancer awareness education and referral services when needed. This collaboration strengthens the organization's ability to serve diverse communities with culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate health information.
