"Die Reise" Sees LPS Reflect on Fame, Freedom, and Inner Truth

A Multinational Collaboration Featuring the Versatile Artistry of Anne-Marie Waldeck

-- Following the successful international reception of "I've Cleared Up It All" and "Sandgrain in Space," multidisciplinary creative force LPS has unveiled his latest masterwork, "Die Reise." This new release serves as a profound waypoint in his evolving discography, brought to life through a stirring performance by the international actress and singer Anne-Marie Waldeck. "Die Reise"—or "The Journey"—is a sophisticated exploration of the human condition, rendered with a maturity that balances intellectual depth with a visceral, rhythmic pulse.

The track echoes themes of searching for a path across vast, open horizons while moving through the repetitive cycles of deep self-reflection. The music is textured and atmospheric, favoring a grounded, authentic sound that recalls the era of classic songwriting, when message and melody were paramount. The song reflects the weight of looking back on a life once consumed by the superficiality of public fame, and the subsequent, courageous decision to turn toward the quieter truths found in the shadows of one’s own soul. It speaks to the realization that one may have taken the wrong path, and to the quiet, firm resolve required to begin the path back to oneself.

Accompanying the release is a music video filmed at the historic Meistersaal in Berlin, a location that provides a backdrop of stripped-back elegance. The visual treatment is focused and intimate, eschewing elaborate narratives to center entirely on the emotional delivery of the performance. Waldeck’s expressions mirror a personal evolution from regret and confinement to a burgeoning, adventurous optimism. The camera work is steady and observant, capturing the nuance of a person placing their entire future on their own inner strength. The video amplifies the song’s themes of stepping out from the blinding spotlight of external expectation and into a more personal, albeit unknown, future.

Anne-Marie Waldeck brings presence to "Die Reise," drawing upon a career that spans film, television, and theater across Europe and North America. Known for her roles in high-profile productions like NCIS: Tony & Ziva and Vienna Blood, Waldeck is a professionally trained dancer and singer whose work is characterized by a strong sense of rhythm and musicality. Her background, which includes intensive study in New York and Los Angeles and experiences at major festivals like Cannes, has fostered a global perspective that she pours into this collaboration. In "Die Reise," she utilizes her vocal range to inhabit a character—one who is moving through the complexities of freedom, broken dreams, and the search for obscured personal goals.

The realization of this project was a global effort, coordinated under Valle Venia, which serves as a bridge between diverse cultural spheres. The recording features percussion by Balu Rajendrakurup (Dallas, Texas), guitar by Max Solo (Cyprus), bass by Larry Bjornson (Canada), piano by Susan Wang (USA), and violin by Olga Holdorff alongside members of the Berlin Music Ensemble. Drum recordings, final mixing, and mastering were completed in Canada by Scott Ferguson. Written and composed by LPS al. Leo Philipp Schmidt, the music was recorded at Emil Berliner Studios in Berlin with sound engineer Rainer Maillard. The visual production includes choreography by Carla Oya, styling by Heike Katzenberger (Mannheim), cinematography by Mathilde Irrman, Lan Nonnemann and Alex Masshold (Berlin), and video editing by Olaf Nohr (Berlin). Together, these contributions highlight what can be achieved when international talent converges around a single, focused artistic vision.

At its heart, "Die Reise" is a song for anyone who has ever felt the pressure to conform and subsequently lost sight of their own reflection. It speaks to the universal desire to break free from negative influences and follow a path into an unpredictable, but ultimately more authentic, future. The words suggest that while the journey is personal, we do not have to travel it entirely alone. We can find those we left behind once we have found ourselves. If you found yourself standing at the crossroads of your own history today, would you have the courage to tear yourself away from the familiar and embark on your own final odyssey?
