Visa beat analysts’ revenue expectations last quarter, reporting revenues of $10.9 billion, up 14.6% year on year. It was a satisfactory quarter for the company, with a decent beat of analysts’ revenue estimates.

This quarter, the market is expecting Visa’s revenue to grow 12% year on year, improving from the 9.3% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Visa rarely misses Wall Street’s revenue estimates.

Looking at Visa’s peers in the credit card segment, some have already reported their Q1 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Bread Financial delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 4.9%, beating analysts’ expectations by 2.3%, and American Express reported revenues up 11.6%, falling short of estimates by 5.1%. Bread Financial traded down 6.9% following the results while American Express was also down 5.7%.

Visa is up 3.3% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $392.33 (compared to the current share price of $309.30).
