Non-Profit SocialJusticeWA.org Advocates for Minority Rights, Seeks Corporate Support to Combat Discrimination

The newly launched platform calls upon major corporations and organizations to join the fight against ongoing discrimination in Washington State.

SocialJusticeWA.org, a new website launched by a non-profit organization, seeks to champion minority rights and implores major corporations for support against discrimination in Washington State.

Operating out of Washington D.C., SocialJusticeWA.org calls on corporations and organizations such as Microsoft, Starbucks, Costco, Boeing, Amazon, T-Mobile, NBA Social Justice Coalition, WNBA, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders, and legal nonprofits including the ACLU headquarters in New York, ADL, MALDEF, and others to join forces in combating discrimination and ensuring the enforcement of federal guidelines.

Dr. Sandy Montano, a minority doctor, recently experienced discrimination resulting in an assault at his business in Washington State. No arrests have been made so far, and his business was shuttered following a complaint he filed with the Civil Rights Office in the Department of Health of Washington State. Dr. Montano expressed his concern, stating, "What if this happened to a minority family without a voice? Their Mexican restaurant, their family grocery store? Do the 1.4 million Hispanics and minorities not deserve to be heard as US citizens?"

According to Dr. Montano, the incident involves a white male state employee, a convicted felon, who assaulted him under racial covenants and was seemingly protected by Attorney General Bob Ferguson's office. He further mentioned that the video evidence of the assault and related documents sent to Governor Jay Inslee, Bob Ferguson's office, and Dr. Umair Shah as Secretary of Health and the Board of Health have so far been met with silence.

SocialJusticeWA.org commented, "The public should decide on this misuse of funds to create real-life traumas of being discriminated as minorities. If Washington State elected officials are too busy, then we, the minorities, are here in DC to provide the authorities with our perspective as taxpayers."

James Bochelli, the DC director, added, "There is a lack of accountability from many corporate and state employees with personal beliefs connected to biased political agendas stemming from racial covenant abuse and discrimination based on myths. This learned helplessness since the 1930s in Washington state sees minorities falling victim to the state's qualified immunity by biased and unethical state employees, all while violating our civil rights and federal guidelines."

Social Justice WA.org has contacted the White House and the Department of Justice regarding Dr. Sandy's case and expects to hold a press conference in front of the White House in June 2023.
