Xi'an city, Shaanxi Province, China - August 26, 2026 - Xi'an Zipeng Technology product offerings as discussed below.
Rigid Copper Busbar
Advantages
- Solid integrated structure ensures stable conductivity, low DC resistance and excellent heat dissipation, resulting in lower heat generation under high‑current working conditions.
- High dimensional accuracy and neat appearance, suitable for cabinet layout with little deformation after installation.
- Simple processing procedures. Lower material and processing costs for the same cross‑sectional area, ideal for mass production.
- Multiple surface treatments are available, including tin‑plating, nickel‑plating, silver‑plating and insulation coating, for long service life.
Disadvantages
- High rigidity and cannot be bent freely; no deformation‑buffering capacity.
- Unable to compensate for assembly tolerances. Stress caused by equipment vibration and thermal expansion & contraction transfers directly to connecting bolts, which may lead to loose bolts, terminal overheating and even cracking in severe cases.
- Difficult to assemble when misalignment occurs between two devices, not suitable for floating connection applications.
Flexible Copper‑Foil Busbar (Mainstream for energy‑storage industry)
Advantages
- Bendable intermediate copper‑foil layers offer good flexibility, compensate for assembly misalignment and adapt to narrow and complex installation spaces.
- Absorbs equipment vibration and relieves mechanical stress from thermal expansion & contraction, protecting bolts and device terminals against stress‑induced damage.
- Convenient for transition connection between equipment with high assembly tolerance, widely used in PCS, battery modules and charging piles.
- Flexible insulation protection options such as heat‑shrink tubes and insulation wrapping.
Disadvantages
- Contact thermal resistance exists between stacked copper‑foil layers. Heat dissipation is slightly poorer than solid rigid copper busbar at the same cross‑sectional area.
- Polymer diffusion welding is required. More production steps lead to higher overall cost compared with rigid copper busbar.
- Welded terminals are critical weak points. Poor welding quality may cause cold solder joints and overheating issues.
- Not resistant to excessive pulling force; repeated heavy bending may break copper foils.
Supplementary note: Braided copper busbar Advantages: Bendable in all directions, mainly used for earthing and vibration absorption. Disadvantages: Low current‑carrying capacity, rarely adopted in high‑current main circuits.
Selection Summary
‑ For fixed cabinet‑internal installation without vibration and cost‑effective requirement → Rigid copper busbar ‑ For inter‑device connection with vibration and assembly‑tolerance compensation requirement → Copper‑foil flexible busbar
