Dr. Dranoff continued his studies and received postdoctoral certification in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health in New York City. He also received additional specialization in the psychotherapeutic process at the Contemporary Center for Advanced Psychoanalytic Studies.

Dr. Dranoff hails from a rich history of collaboration with numerous organizations, including several positions of high leadership at regional mental health centers-to wit, he served as director of the Community Mental Health Center in Clifton, New Jersey, where he worked closely with the local community to address mental health challenges. He also contributed to numerous educational institutions, working as the director of the Psychological Services and Counseling Center at William Paterson University, a field supervisor at the psychological clinic at Rutgers University and a co-founder of the Psychoanalytic Institute for the Contemporary Center for Advanced Psychoanalytic Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also availed himself as the co-chairman of the anti-bullying committee of the New Jersey Psychological Association, among many other prominent roles to his credit.

Dr. Dranoff went on to establish D&D Consultants Inc. in 1996. With his team of psychologists and educators, this company designs interactive programs aimed at risk reduction for organizations and corporations throughout the United States. Combining leading research in organizational psychology, these programs assist individuals in adapting to life's everyday challenges and environments. The techniques Dr. Dranoff incorporates into the programs explore the effects of culture, communication barriers, and unconscious resistance that keep individuals and groups from reaching their personal goals.

As the president of D&D Consultants Inc., Dr. Dranoff spearheaded major programs, including the Risky Business Developmental Series. The series features unscripted, naturalistic video interactions of student actors to train students in elementary school, middle school, high school, and college, as well as their parents and teachers. This evidence-based training focuses on promoting strong peer groups, enabling students to stand up to bullying, sexual harassment, and violence. The programs also have a strong component to promote resilience and the skills of empathy. These programs have been used by major school districts across the country, in some for as long as 30 years.

Beyond Dr. Dranoff's work with D&D Consultants Inc., he serves as a co-founder and director of the Center for Empathy Research and Training at Fairleigh Dickinson University, a private university in New Jersey. In this position, he utilizes his 35 years of experience in psychology to develop a unique model for empathy training. Through Dr. Dranoff's research on this model, he identified psychological "roadblocks" that can inhibit an individual's capacity for empathy. The Center has used his research to train many clients, including hospitals, religious groups, and academic professionals, to effectively identify and remove the psychological roadblocks that enable them to restore their empathic capacity.

Dr. Dranoff's work and programs have helped numerous organizations and individuals decrease workplace anger, aggression, and conflict, helping them establish better interpersonal relationships. His work methods were showcased in a play he produced on PBS-TV.

Dr. Dranoff has made additional contributions to the field of psychology by co-authoring several publications, including "The First Line of Defense" (McGraw Hill) and "The Manager's Guide to Preventing a Hostile Work Environment" (John Wiley & Sons). As an influential professional, Dr. Dranoff has been invited to serve as a public speaker at various media outlets. His collaborations with significant figures such as Anita Hill have further solidified the influence of his legacy.

In recognition of Dr. Dranoff's contributions to the field of psychology and beyond, he has received numerous awards. These include the Mega-Conference on Technology Award in 2004, the AURORA Gold Award in 2002, the Willis North American Book of the Year Award in 2002 and a CINDY Gold Award in 2001. Additionally, he has been bestowed with several awards as a result of his involvement with the Contemporary Center for Advanced Psychoanalytic Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Fordham University, and the New Jersey Psychological Association.

Of all Dr. Dranoff's accomplishments, he takes the greatest pride in his written works and the programs he's led. Through his research, he has enabled countless individuals to achieve greater empathy and understanding while realizing their personal goals.

Dr. Dranoff strives to develop further methods for enhancing empathy in others. He hopes to find ways to address the widespread issues affecting our society that allow anger and conflict to flourish.
