UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESSWIRE / October 30, 2024 / Marquis Who's Who has honored Marty Herman for his expertise in marketing and the visual arts. Mr. Herman's Exposures International Gallery has been recognized as One of the 20 Best Galleries in the World by the World Art Awards. Through hard work and dedication, Mr. Herman has built a reputation for himself by creating one of the largest and most unique fine art galleries of the modern day.
Mr. Herman's Varied Career
Before Mr. Herman embarked on a journey of sophistication and fame, his career began when he was drafted into the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. In the military, he served as a combat photographer and soon became an expert in photo intelligence, something that became a part of his wider artistic experience. After returning to the United States, he worked as a manager for Pacific Stereo from 1971 to 1974. He then became the executive vice president and general manager for University Stereo from 1975 to 1980.
In 1977, Mr. Herman also became the president of JAM Advertising Inc. in Los Angeles. In this role, he partnered with the southern Californian marketing powerhouse Monte Gast to build a clientele from Coca-Cola, Fred Segal Clothing, Guitar Center, Oshman's Sporting Goods, Ritz Camera and San Miguel Beer, alongside several movie studios and record companies, until he left the company in 1980.
From 1981 to 1982, Mr. Herman made a dramatic shift in occupation to become the head swim coach for the Special Olympics. He later became the vice president of marketing for the Inference Corporation from 1983 to 1984. By this time, he was only 35 years old, but after making his first million dollars, he was able to retire comfortably. With newfound freedom, Mr. Herman became a sea captain and sailed the world from 1984 to 1990.
A Vision for a Better Gallery
After returning from his global travels, Mr. Herman was not happy with the art galleries he remembered attending in California and during his travels abroad. Noticing how different it was in his home state, he ended up calling the Environmental Protection Agency to find a better place to live. Someone recommended Sedona, Arizona, so he moved there and set up his gallery.
Finding the Opportunity to Collaborate
Mr. Herman quickly discovered how unique a business such as an art gallery could be, seizing the opportunity to partner with exceptional artists and clients. Early on, he decided that Exposures International Gallery was for artists, simply a facilitator of their needs. Though it started off small, the gallery has grown to collaborate directly with nearly 100 fine artists, maintaining a blended atmosphere of small business and sophisticated facilities. Exposures International Gallery features oil and acrylic painters, fine jewelry artists, glass artists, and sculptors throughout over 20,000 square feet of display space. This year, the gallery is celebrating its 28th anniversary by featuring 25 artists from around the world.
A Legacy of Integrity and Trust
Mr. Herman has built a gallery founded on integrity and trust between his space, the artist, and the client. He is honored to have become one of the top-rated galleries in the United States and proud to continue a tradition of giving back to the arts.
