The acquisition extends Mission Inbox's control into the mail-server layer and lays the foundation for a dedicated transactional email product - a move timed to a structural shift in how email is filtered, sent, and trusted.

CLAYMONT, DE / ACCESS Newswire / July 28, 2026 / Mission Inbox, a B2B email infrastructure company, today announced it has acquired CeyMail, a self-hosted mail-server platform founded in 2024 by Derrick Siawor. The acquisition pushes Mission Inbox's control deeper into the mail stack - from the sending application down to the mail server itself - and sets up the launch of a dedicated transactional email product later this year.

The deal is a bet on where email is heading. As AI-generated content floods inboxes and email clients race to filter it, the companies argue that the durable fix is not smarter filtering on the receiving end, but cleaner sending at the source.

Why Now: The Inbox Is Becoming a Trust Layer

The past year has made the direction of the market hard to ignore. In June 2026, Superhuman (formerly Grammarly) acquired AI-detection company GPTZero to build what it publicly calls an "authenticity layer" for content - a signal that inbox providers now treat trust and provenance as core infrastructure, not a feature. In parallel, developer-first sender Resend raised an $18M Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz in early 2025, underscoring that transactional email infrastructure is one of the most actively funded corners of the category.

Both moves point at the same gap. Receiving-side tools are getting dramatically better at deciding what reaches a human. That raises the bar on everyone who sends.

"Every quarter, the filters on the receiving end get smarter, and email clients are becoming agentic," said Steve Baltodano, CEO and co-founder of Mission Inbox. "You cannot out-run that from the outside. The only sustainable answer is to fix the problem where it starts - with the sender. That is what MI Shield is built to do, and CeyMail lets us do it further down the stack than anyone renting shared cloud infrastructure can."

MI Shield, Mission Inbox's pre-send screening system, is designed to evaluate outbound messages before they leave the platform, so that low-quality or high-risk mail is caught at the source rather than after it has already touched a recipient's filter. The tighter, better-isolated cloud environments the CeyMail acquisition enables are intended to keep that screening close to the point of transmission.

Why CeyMail: Self-Hosting-Grade Isolation, Delivered as Cloud

Mission Inbox's model gives each customer workload - sales, marketing, and soon transactional - its own dedicated, isolated sending environment rather than a shared pool, so a customer's sending reputation is never exposed to unknown neighbors. The engineering challenge in that model is doing per-workload isolation cleanly and repeatedly at scale. That is precisely what CeyMail solved for self-hosted deployments.

CeyMail was built to stand up a production-ready, fully isolated mail stack from a single command, with automatic DNS configuration and a unified dashboard for the mail server and its domains. Mission Inbox has adapted those self-hosting isolation techniques into its own cloud, streamlining how each customer environment is provisioned, configured, and kept clean.

The result is the point of the acquisition: the isolation discipline and deployment speed of self-hosting, delivered as managed cloud. Customers get the reputation control that historically required running your own servers - without running anything themselves.

"When you self-host, you get real isolation and control, but you inherit all the operational weight," said Derrick Siawor, founder of CeyMail, who joins Mission Inbox as Deliverability Lead. "We've taken the best practices that made that isolation work and built them into Mission Inbox's cloud. Customers get the upside without the burden."

What It Means for Customers

For customers, the practical effect is one platform spanning outbound sales, marketing, and - soon - transactional email, each on isolated infrastructure managed from a single control plane. The combination is designed to reduce manual DNS work, shorten the time to stand up new sending environments, and keep screening and monitoring close to the point of send.

Looking Ahead: Transactional Email

Mission Inbox intends to launch a dedicated transactional email product in the coming months, built on the tighter cloud isolation the CeyMail acquisition enables. Transactional email - password resets, receipts, alerts - lives or dies on immediacy and reliability, which the company sees as a natural fit for infrastructure it controls end to end.

Adding transactional as a first-class workload alongside sales and marketing is the core of the company's growth roadmap. It expands Mission Inbox's addressable market into a category the majority of its customers already buy elsewhere, and it opens a direct consolidation path: existing customers running a separate transactional provider can bring that workload onto the same platform and the same isolated infrastructure - rather than splitting their sending reputation and vendor relationships across tools. The company views that combination of a wider market and an existing base ready to consolidate as what compresses its path to its next revenue milestone.

The company, which is profitable and bootstrapped, describes the acquisition as an acceleration of its existing roadmap and says it remains open to external capital opportunistically as it expands into the category.
