-- On June 15, the final roadshow of the 2026 Shenzhen International Eyewear (AI) Design Contest and the 10th Henggang Glasses Designer Awards came to a successful end at the Henggang Cultural & Sports Center, marking the triumphant culmination of the event.As a flagship industry competition rooted in Henggang with a decade of development, this year’s Henggang Eyewear Designer Selection marked its 10th anniversary milestone. It has carried forward fine traditions while brimming with innovative momentum.
Since its launch, the competition has attracted 3,166 entries from 13 countries and regions including Russia, Greece, and Japan, of which 969 entries are categorized under AI eyewear. This event launched the pioneering "Shenzhen Eyewear Design AI Agent Platform" to empower design innovation through technology.
Four competition categories were established: the Master Group, Professional Group, University Group and AI Eyewear Group. Entries covered original design, smart wearable devices and creative design. By integrating fashion, technology, ergonomics and personalized design concepts, designers created a large number of high-quality works that combine artistic value and practicality, driving the quality, innovation and value upgrading of China's eyewear industry.
At the final roadshow, 46 shortlisted designers presented their works one after another. Stunning combinations emerged from the integration of 3D printing technology and retro materials, while cyberpunk styles delivered fresh visual experiences. Standout creations including MR smart climbing glasses and barrier-free designs for older adults were showcased on stage. Closely aligned with cutting-edge industry trends and boasting distinctive styles, all these works embody the people-centered design philosophy.
The judges reviewed the entries meticulously from the perspectives of innovation value and market potential. They agreed that this year’s submissions strike a perfect balance between commercial value and cultural connotation, with outstanding craftsmanship and remarkable creative breakthroughs, fully demonstrating the professionalism of contemporary designers. By bringing together global design talent, the competition has accelerated the transformation of the traditional eyewear industry toward brand-driven development and intelligent interactive terminals.
In addition, outstanding competition works were exhibited in the Design Competition achievement zone at the 4th Shenzhen International Eyewear Industry Expo & 2026 First Artificial Intelligence Eyewear Exhibition, fully showcasing the new industrial ecosystem empowered by design creativity.
