TYTN Tailors is expanding its mobile tailoring and alterations service across Houston, with the fitting, the pickup, and the delivery all at the customer's door.

Getting clothes altered in Houston usually costs two drives across town, one to drop the garment off and one to pick it up. TYTN Tailors removes both trips. The company is expanding its mobile tailoring and alterations service across Houston, and the fitting, the pickup, and the delivery all happen at the customer's door.

TYTN handles men's and women's alterations, hemming, sleeve and waist adjustments, zipper and button replacement, and seam repair. The company also does formal wear, including wedding, bridesmaid, tuxedo, prom, and quinceañera dresses, along with custom work on uniforms, children's clothing, leather, and drapery. Embroidery and monogramming are available as well.

A customer books a fitting time, and TYTN comes to the home or the office to take the measurements and collect the garment. The finished work comes back to the same door. Standard delivery is the Friday of the following week, and expedited 24 hour service is available when someone needs the garment sooner.

Owner Shad Shaar built the business around the part of tailoring people like least, which is the driving. Somebody with a wedding in three weeks does not want to plan two trips to a strip mall around a fitting. They want a tailor who comes to them, gets the measurements right, and brings the clothes back finished.

TYTN serves Houston and the surrounding area, from Briar Forest, Memorial, and Walnut Bend through the Galleria and out along the Sam Houston Tollway. The company is building toward becoming the tailor Houston calls when the clothes have to fit and nobody has an afternoon to spend on it.
