Having previously worked as an installer, he approaches customers and installation teams with an understanding of their perspectives and focuses on finding fair resolutions for everyone involved.

"It's never thinking I'm better than anyone, but always going into every situation, every home, with humility, treating all my installers like I used to be an installer," he said. He believes business owners should never consider themselves above their customers or employees and that long-term success comes from listening carefully and giving people what they genuinely need.

Mr. Brackenridge entered the flooring industry out of necessity. He married at age 17 and began supporting a growing family while still young. After initially being denied an opportunity to move into sales, he learned through his sister about an opening with an Atlanta-area flooring company. He accepted a commission-based sales position despite significant financial pressure and, after a difficult first year, developed a strong understanding of the business and achieved growing success. At 25, he took the risk of opening his own company.

His motivation for founding BFloored Today! was straightforward: He believed customers could receive better quality, fairer pricing and a more personal level of service. Sixteen years later, that philosophy continues to guide the company. His three children are involved or interested in becoming involved in the business, while his wife manages administrative responsibilities and customer welcome calls. He takes pride in teaching his family what he has learned so they will have the knowledge and confidence to continue operating the company independently. Mr. Brackenridge attributes much of his success to his faith, determination and willingness to remain open to opportunity. Raised in Marietta as the oldest of four children by a single mother facing financial hardship, he developed an early appreciation for responsibility, hard work and respect for every type of job.
