Andrew C. Finch, Former Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General in DOJ’s Antitrust Division, to Join Cravath

Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP is pleased to announce that Andrew C. Finch, a leading antitrust lawyer who served as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Acting Assistant Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division from 2017 to 2019, will join the Firm as a partner.

Mr. Finch advises clients on antitrust investigations and litigation, both criminal and civil, including merger reviews. At the Department of Justice, Mr. Finch similarly oversaw all aspects of the Antitrust Division’s operations, including merger reviews, civil and criminal antitrust investigations, litigation and appeals. Mr. Finch will practice within Cravath’s Litigation Department, from its New York office.

Varney, former Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust and Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission; Noah Joshua Phillips, former Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission; Jelena McWilliams, former Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; Jeffrey A. Rosen, former Acting Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General; David J. Kappos, former Under Secretary of Commerce and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; Elad L. Roisman, former Commissioner and Acting Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission; and John D. Buretta, former Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Chief of Staff in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice.

Mr. Finch received his J.D. from University of Chicago Law School in 1997, an M.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994, and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
