On the evening of July 15, the “Fuyang Charm · Journey to Xiaoxian” 2026 Xiaoxian Fuyang Culture Festival officially opened at the Xiaoxian Sports Center Square, launching a 21-day summer celebration featuring local culture, tourism, and culinary experiences.
The opening ceremony began with Fuyang’s Blessings (Fuyang Xian Run), a traditional opera medley performed by the Xiaoxian Bang Opera Troupe, bringing the sounds and emotions of hometown culture to the stage and setting the festival off on a joyful note. The performance incorporated a variety of artistic forms, including percussion, street dance, folk songs and dances, and immersive theatrical presentations. Drums of Expedition delivered powerful rhythms and an inspiring atmosphere; AI singer “Yangyang” made a striking appearance, while the energetic street dance performance Leading the Way showcased Xiaoxian’s spirit of ambition and progress. Amu Gulen performed The Song of Wine, with his powerful vocals echoing the cultural spirit of Xiaoxian’s Fuyang traditions, creating a beautiful fusion between the grassland charm of northern China and the ancient cultural heritage of northern Anhui. The playful dance performance Pleasant Goat further ignited the festive atmosphere and filled the venue with joy.

The “Ink and Charm of Ancient Xiaoxian · Painting a New Landscape” exhibition section will feature ceramics, calligraphy, painting, and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, highlighting Xiaoxian’s unique identity as the “Hometown of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Art.” The “Colors from All Directions · Joy in Today’s Xiaoxian” cultural performance section will host themed performances and traditional activities such as sheep fighting competitions. The “Beautiful Anhui Summer · Better Stays in Xiaoxian” sports carnival section will connect deeply with the 16th Anhui Provincial Games, introducing Village BA basketball competitions and square dance contests, while hosting provincial youth volleyball Group B and women’s U15 football competitions. The “Gifts from the Fields · Crafted with Excellence” premium product exhibition section will organize online and offline promotions of local specialty products, including livestream sales and the “Xiaoxian Fuyang Cuisine Entering Provincial and Municipal Government Canteens” initiative, helping more high-quality local products reach wider audiences.
