Statistics shows that Hebei province now ranks first in the country in both the number of national-level green steel plants and A-rated enterprises in environmental performance.

Breakthroughs continued in low-carbon smelting technologies such as hydrogen metallurgy, while high-end green materials like electrical steel are emerging in rapid succession, CNS said.

The province also maintained a leading position in comprehensive computing power, with 292 vertical large models deeply applied across 26 industries, including steel and chemicals, the agency added.

According to the article, collaborative innovation among Chinese Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region continues to deepen and in 2025, and Hebei province has attracted technology contract transactions worth 127.17 billion yuan (about 18.17 billion USD) from Beijing and Tianjin, ranking first in China for two consecutive years.

From a "major manufacturing province" to a "hub of innovation," Hebei's explorations and practices are offering a vivid glimpse into the intelligent, green, and integrated transformation of Chinese manufacturing, said CNS.
